Mission Statement
Career-Technical Education in the
Central Kitsap School District provides students with the applied technological
and life skills, positive work attitudes , work ethics, and leadership for
successful entrance into the modern workforce of for advanced training. Included
are strategies to develop personally satisfying live for individuals and
families and a desire for lifelong learning in a rapidly changing and diverse
technological society.
Computer and technical skills along with a strong academic
base will be necessary to assure future success. Whether seeking a professional
occupation requiring a college degree or a technical occupation requiring high
school and/or advanced community/technical college training, every student
should take the opportunity to develop technical knowledge and skills as a part
of a quality high school program.
Graduate follow-up statistics indicate that more than half of
the Central Kitsap graduates who attend college also work, many utilizing the
professional-technical skills developed while in high school. It is no longer a
choice of developing technical knowledge/skills. To be successful in tomorrow's
rapidly changing occupations, a strong academic core coupled with technical
skills is a must.
